Monday Made It 8/17/15!

Today was a great day for many reasons. For one, I finally got to go into my new classroom. Ahhh.... I measured bulletin boards, dropped off some supplies, and just really soaked in the new classroom where I will be spending my next year. It's so exciting! Another reason this day is great is because I am excited to share my Monday Made its. They all revolve around one new obsession... my cricut.. Thanks Nina:-)

I love this weekly linky, so be sure to link up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics.

This week, my wonderful friend Nina stopped by and helped me fix my Cricut. She got us this for our wedding, and I haven't gotten to use it yet. But now it works!!! With a fixed Cricut, I was super excited to get crafting while also finding some time to figure out how that silly machine worked.

I started by making my dull and sharp pencil bins for my classroom. Adorable!

I then began thinking of other things to use my Cricut for and came up with this bin.

It does say Mrs. Clark! I couldn't get a great angle with my phone. I'm not sure what I am going to put in it, but I adore displaying my new name:-)

And lastly, I spruced up my birthday balloon bucket!
Happy Monday!

Monday Made It! 8/10/15

Hi there friends! Ahhh so much to do, so little time. I am excited to show all of you my made its from this past week. My list is still expanding, but I was able to cross of some cute projects this week. Thanks again Tara for this amazing link up.

I just love getting to see what other teachers come up with each week.... especially during this time of the year.
Here we go!
For the past two years, I have used a "Party Pom Jar" as part of my classroom management system. It works as a whole class reward system ( quite similar to earning brownie points) where students can ear poms for earning compliments from other teachers, parents, etc or for going above and beyond in the classroom. The kids love it, and when the jar is full, they get to pick a party of their choice! So much fun! This also works wonders at the beginning of the year to reinforce classroom behaviors and expectations! My jar from the past two years was glass and just started to look a bit rough, so I decided to make a new one. I also decided to use a plastic one this time, safer for the sweeties.
I simply made a label on powerpoint ( one for the extra poms and one for the jar)

 Then I printed and laminated.

I think they came out just adorable! I can't wait to bring them to my classroom this week.
Second, I redid my classroom clip chart with my new classroom colors.

Third, I decided to also redo my classroom timeline that I like to hang up in my classroom to display to parents and students our progress in pictures throughout the year.

This is going to look darling on the walls, and the parents always love seeing our monthly highlights in pictures!

This one I am super excited about! Last year, I bought these adorable wooden frames from Michael's and printed Subway Art rules from Maria at Kinder Craze for my third grade classroom. I am changing it up since I really stick to the whole brain teaching rules. I made some subway art and spray painted all of my frames the same turquoise color.

I have been wanting to make a mystery walker jar for a long time. I use mystery walkers in my classroom often but I typically just pick a random student. This year, I will be able to draw a student's name from this jar and carry the stick with me in the hallway. This way, the students will all have a fair chance!

During the first week of school, the kiddos will decorate a stick with their name.

And just one more!
My mom gave me this adorable bin from my soon to be sister in law's bridal shower. She used this to store candy bags for a candy table.
I put mints inside since I love to snack on mints during the school day.
End product!

Happy Monday and Happy Summer friends!

August Currently

I am linking up with Oh' Boy Fourth Grade to share what is is happening in the month of August for this third grade teacher. Boy, it sure is crazy that it is already August! There certainly has been a lot going on for me this summer, but still.. .AUGUST already. I have to say though, I am really excited to get back into the swing of  things. I miss the kiddos, and I am so excited to start a new school year at a new school that I have dreamed of working at for years. Here we go!!

Listening- Well, I have to admit being a teacher has really made me value my quiet time. I love waking up to the quiet peace. I even love driving home from work in silence. I guess it's because I'm around cuties chatting all day:-)

Loving- Coffee is certainly one of my best friends, but hey just one cup a day! One of my favorite times of my day in the summer is in the morning when I get to sit around, sipping on my deliciously creamy coffee, surfing teaching blogs.

Thinking- As I have explained a few times already, I am transitioning into a new district, new school, new team, and new classroom. I CANNOT wait to get into my new classroom and start creating/decorating!! I want to go right now!

Wanting- My husband just went back yesterday for his medical school orientation. You see, we met in college, and then he went onto 4 years of pharmacy school. Now after becoming a pharmacist, becoming a physician is his new passion. I am so thrilled he gets to start this new journey, but hey I do now he will be very exhausted and consumed in the next 4-8 years. It will be worth it through to see him happy in his work. That is one thing I am very blessed to have found right away in my career, a love for my job.

Needing- Haha, who doesn't want to spend spend spend on adorable new goodies for our classrooms? I just wish everything was free!

B2S RAK- I am currently on the hunt for a cheap yellow or turquoise rug for my classroom. I am obsessed for looking for this item, but I haven't quite found what I am looking for! If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

As you can see, B2S is on my mind! I can't wait to browse through and see what all of you fabulous teachers are up to! Have a great Tuesday!

Monday Made It! 8/3/15

Wow, time sure is flying by! I am going to be back in my classroom before we know it! But, I sure do have a lot of projects to tackle before I am ready. I am ready to kick into back to school mode!
I am excited again to be linking up with Tara to share some of this week's projects to add to my NEW third grade classroom at my NEW school! Ahh, that last sentence excites me a lot!

I have a few this week, but I actually am waiting for some of my other projects to dry outside now so I will share those next week :p
To start out, I finally purchased this amazing decor packet from School Girl style titles Hello SunShine! I know I shared some of this info last week, but I actually purchased the packet, and I began making labels and adorable signs for my new classroom. You can find the pack here!
Here is a reminder of what it looks like.

I began making labels and such this week. Here is an adorable can I made using her fabulous digital papers to put on my teacher desk.

I started with a cheap. one dollar, cylinder vase from Dollar Tree. I bought some cute yellow flowers to go inside.
It was as easy as select the paper, print, tape, and put flowers inside! I love how it turned out.
I also started creating labels and banners for with my new classroom colors. I made these adorable banners, and I can't wait to hang them up!

I also found these adorable tassel banners to go along with these banners. I'M IN LOVE!!

I know for sure that I want to use one of these tassel banners above my desk/teacher area with an additional banner with my name. I have a vision.... you can see the end product in just a few weeks!
I also had a really good time last week finishing up some last minute decorating touches before Josh and I's first home warming party. We had all of our friends and family over on Friday to see our new house, and I just had to put up some of our wedding pictures to display. So, I decided to tackle a gallery wall.
I got this gallery frame set from Bed Bath and Beyond, and we didn't even have to pay anything since we still have tons of gift cards from our wedding shower.
I fist laid out all of the frames to see sizes and colors of the frames.
It came with this handy dandy template, and it really truly was easy peasy! I did it all without asking Josh for help!!

And here is our end product! I love it!!!

Happy August and happy summer! Enjoy the time you have left!
